Watching God Build

“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established.” — Proverbs 24:3 NIV

Our house was the first one built in our neighborhood. Over time, we watched craftsmen construct the other homes that would eventually hold our neighbors, friends, and families we had not yet met. Every home began with an empty piece of land. Then came the foundation, framing, walls, and finishing details. The process was gradual, noisy, and sometimes messy, but every stage had a purpose.

Faith can feel the same way.

We often want God to show us the finished result, but He usually reveals only the next step. While we see unfinished walls, He sees what He is building within us.

Five years after our move, I can look back and recognize how much has happened. There have been beautiful memories and difficult seasons, but through all of them, God has continued building our family’s faith.

His work may not always happen according to our schedule, but no season of construction is wasted.

Question to Ponder

What might God be building in you during your current unfinished season?

Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, help me trust You while my life still feels under construction. Give me patience with the process and faith for the next step. Amen.

About Me

IMG_3129_edited.png

Hi, I’m Wendy—a wife, mother, writer, and strong believer in Jesus. I began writing devotionals for my three sons as a way to share God’s Word and encourage them in their faith. Writing is a vulnerable craft, and I share my thoughts knowing that I do not have all the answers—nor do I pretend to know everything about the Bible. I am simply sharing what God places on my heart. My hope is that these words bring you joy, encourage you in your own journey, and plant a seed in your heart that reminds you just how deeply your Father in Heaven loves you.
