The Riches Within Our Rooms

“Through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” — Proverbs 24:4 NIV

When Scripture speaks of rooms filled with precious treasures, I do not believe it is describing expensive furniture, beautiful artwork, or perfectly decorated spaces. The real treasures within a home are the memories created there. They are family dinners, children laughing, late-night conversations, prayers whispered beside a bed, celebrations around a table, and forgiveness offered after difficult days. They include the ordinary moments we may not recognize as treasures until the room becomes quiet.

When my husand and I moved, we imagined the new memories that would fill our rooms. Five years later, I can see how faithfully God has filled them with growth, relationships, laughter, challenges, and reminders of His presence. The most valuable things inside our homes cannot be purchased. They are created when we give one another our time, attention, grace, and love.

Question to Ponder

What precious memories has God placed within the rooms of your home?

Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for the treasures that cannot be purchased. Help me slow down and recognize the precious moments unfolding inside my home today. Amen.

About Me

IMG_3129_edited.png

Hi, I’m Wendy—a wife, mother, writer, and strong believer in Jesus. I began writing devotionals for my three sons as a way to share God’s Word and encourage them in their faith. Writing is a vulnerable craft, and I share my thoughts knowing that I do not have all the answers—nor do I pretend to know everything about the Bible. I am simply sharing what God places on my heart. My hope is that these words bring you joy, encourage you in your own journey, and plant a seed in your heart that reminds you just how deeply your Father in Heaven loves you.
